About the Post
The West Paterson American Legion Post
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans.

The West Paterson/Woodland Park Post Officers
Tom has served dutifully as The Post Commander and as a member of the West Paterson post. Tom is happy to work with the new generation of veterans at the Legion and looks forward to a full transition of the post to the younger members. Tom is also an avid golfer and can be found running the Legion golf outing at Meadows golf course every year.
Erik has recently taken on his role as Vice Commander. He is an active police officer with the Woodland Park Police Department, a Marine Corps Sergeant who served in Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003. Erik has helped reorganize our post and is working with our members to bring the Legion into the digital era.
